Vancouver lifestyles are shifting...Elixir has answered with an ideal blend
of a new petit plats menu, music and drink, quintessentially French and
quintessentially Elixir.
Yaletown, Vancouver - Elixir Restaurant and Bar introduces an ambitious and enticing
experience born from the synergy generated by good food, fine drink and right-for-the moment
music.
The new petit plats menu, crafted by executive chef Don Letendre, combines traditional
French cuisine with modern styling and includes savory delectables such as lobster ravioli, pea
shoots & shellfish essence and lamb shank tajine with tabbouleh, dried fruits, cilantro and mint.
Letendre said, "I craft our menu seasonally however, having the petit plats menu added,
allows me to take further advantage of the freshest seasonal ingredients such as white asparagus
and berries. Having this flexibility in the kitchen, allows me to add creativity and flair with our
new petit plats menu".
The petit plats menu is only part of the new ambience at Elixir. Paris DJ Claude Sabbah
was flown in from Paris to set the tone for the weekend, beginning with a "by invitation" preview
party on June 2 at the very European time slot of 10 pm. Sabbah can also be heard at Elixir on
Friday and Saturday night from 10 p.m. till late.
Sabbah made his mark in fashion several years ago with his hip-hop/middleeastern/
military-inspired clothing line that graced the figures of Eve and Lauryn Hill, and he is
now well-known for playing at Parisian hot spot Mandala Ray, owned by Johnny Depp, Sean
Penn and John Malkovich.
John deC. Evans, owner of Elixir and Opus Hotel said, "We have created a unique
experience by organically combining food, music and drink. The new Elixir petit plats menu
allows our guest to select and combine an array of small plates, together with their choice of drink
- all quintessentially French, quintessentially Elixir."
"In Vancouver, we’re seeing a lifestyle shift, whereby people want a choice of small
plates when dining, early as well as late at night, that can be shared with friends in a relaxed
venue all wrapped with the right music. Elixir is responding to what I believe Vancouverites want
in a dining," Evans continues.
Starting Friday June 3, on Monday through Saturday, Elixir will host a variety of both
well-established and up-and-coming DJ’s, whose eclectic mix of musical tastes provide the
perfect backdrop for petit plats.
